It was a happy conclusion for a 12-year-old boy in Clarksville Sunday, after he was found floating on a raft in the middle of the river.
According to Clarksville Fire Rescue, crews responded to the area of Robert Clark Park around 3:30 p.m. Sunday for reports of a missing child. The child’s father told officers he had not seen the boy in nearly an hour, and he was last seen on a raft in the river.
A search immediately began, and a three-man boat team was deployed—within 20 minutes, they located the youth, who had slowly floated down the river to Billy Dunlop Park. He was unharmed.
Crews were able to bring him out of the water and safety to the bank of the river by 4 p.m. He was checked by EMS as a precaution, but did not require transport to a hospital.
