A single-vehicle crash on East First Street Wednesday afternoon sent a Hopkinsville man to a Nashville hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, 65-year-old Jeffrey McCord of Hopkinsville was operating an electric bicycle westbound on East First when the bike experienced some type of mechanical issue. That caused McCord to lose control of the bicycle and he hit the ground.
McCord was reportedly not wearing a helmet or protective gear and sustained several, likely severe injuries.
He was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment.
