The Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville was host to youth from across Kentucky, as they came together for the 2026 Stand Out Summit recently.
According to a news release, the Stand Out Summit offers teens a series of interactive, skill-building sessions that are designed to prepare them for their future careers. It’s is a full-day workforce event that brought together four clubs, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hopkinsville, the Bowling Green area, Franklin-Simpson Scottsville Allen County and of Glasgow-Barren County.
Teens took part in interactive activities around career and workforce readiness, such as career exploration, resume building, mock interview and entrepreneurship. There were break out sessions, a Start Up and Sip innovation challenger, a strengths and interests assessment, a career pathways panel and a goal-setting workshop.
Joe Leavell, the Assistant Director of Upward Bound at Hopkinsville Community College and the pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church, was the keynote speaker.
