Janice Mason Art Musuem welcomes Selfe as new executive director

The Janice Mason Art Museum is welcoming a new director, as the Board of Directors has selected Kelly Selfe to serve in the role of executive director.

Selfe brings plenty of experience and know-how to the role, with decades for experience in art education, program development, community engagement, fundraising and cultural leadership as a respected arts educator and non-profit leader. Selfe currently serves as an Arts Coordinator for the Pennyroyal Arts Council in Hopkinsville and the historic Alhambra Theatre.

She has managed educational programming, developed community partnerships, has experience in grant writing and has coordinated experiences for art students. Prior to joining the Pennyroyal Arts Council, Selfe spent 23 years as an award-winning visual arts educator with the Franklin Special School District in Tennessee. She also served as an adjunct professor at Middle Tennessee State University and has been a frequent presenter at state and national conferences.

Selfe and her husband reside in Hopkinsville, but are building a home in Cadiz. She says, “I am honored and excited to serve as Executive Director of the Janice Mason Art Museum. The museum is a treasured cultural asset for Cadiz and the entire region. I look forward to working alongside the Board, volunteers, artists, supporters, and community partners to expand educational opportunities, celebrate creativity, and continue building meaningful connections through the arts.”
