The Pennyroyal Area Museum turned 50 years old on Wednesday, and the community was invited to celebrate its birthday this weekend. However, due to a rainy weekend forecast, the venue has changed.
The celebration was originally set to take place outside at the museum, but now it will be inside the Hopkinsville War Memorial Building at 1202 South Virginia St. The celebration is from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday and doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The celebration is set to include live Bluegrass music by the Todd County Boys, lunch by the Pioneers and a program featuring Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County Executive Director Alissa Keller and local Historian William Turner.
