Six members of Hopkinsville Fire and EMS were presented with special recognitions recently, after they helped bring a new life safely into the world.
A 911 call to dispatch quickly turned into an unexpected childbirth, and the six-member crew answered the stressful situation with professionalism, calmness and compassion, according to officials with HFD.
They helped safely welcome a newborn baby girl to the world, both healthy and happy.
They were all presented with a Stork Pin, which is presented to first responders who assist with the delivery of a baby outside of a hospital.
